In this class we will tap into your heart based intuition and mothering instincts to help you select specific holistic and homeopathic remedies to support your complex child. The word 'complex' is intentionally broad - it can include anything from oppositional behaviors, to eating challenges, to autism, mold toxicity and/or lyme disease. We will explore divination with the Rider-Smith-Waite tarot system to create a foundation for understanding the traditional meaning and symbology of the cards. Our journey onto the path of the tarot will begin with the Major Arcana, moving on to the Minor Arcana and Court Cards, followed by an opportunity to practice reading for each other. Learning and working with this elemental structure and the underlying numerology will allow you to ground into a deeper understanding of the tarot, which can then be applied to most other tarot decks.   This workshop is designed to awaken ancient memory, as we simultaneously weave our voices and move our hands — over and under; over and under. We will begin by practicing simple vocal warm-up techniques and learning several weaving songs with layered harmonies. Once we have anchored these songs as a group, we will bring these weaving vocal harmonies into the literal weaving of baskets. Each student will create a simple & rustic basket, made from locally-sourced blackberry bramble. The emphasis will be on working with slowness and intention, allowing the songs and the rhythm of our hands to awaken an ancient knowing in us. Weaving a Circle: Woven Cowls Weaving in a circular format, both with our bodies and the structure of our looms, provides an opportunity to connect to the rich symbolism and meaning of the circle. The circle is known across time, place and culture as a symbol of inclusion, unity, wholeness and the infinite. As we sit together in a circle, we support and value each unique woven expression. Our own looms mirror this support structure as we weave around each loom in a circular pattern.
