Hey, I'm Alex. I'm a wilderness guide, an ancestral skills practitioner, an ecologist and a sister. Born with a soul that wants to eat the world, I move between adventure and sanctuary with equal devotion. I've worked alongside equine veterinarians and volunteered on farms around the world - with each adventure I discover how my heart comes most alive through the ancient, land-based ways of my ancestors. My truest education has come from dirt under my fingernails, working with, learning from, and singing to hides, and deep immersion in wild places. I am deeply drawn to matriarchal wisdom, indigenous knowledge, and sacred sexuality teachings that honor pleasure as a pathway to our innate power. I work to weave my life in ways that deepen my connection...

I’ve felt overwhelming joy being in wild spaces since growing up in southern California. But, my wilderness mentorship began in the Northern Cascades of Washington, the Idaho Panhandle, and the Montana Rockies. After gaining backpacking skills and my Wilderness First Responder certification, I was able to spend a season guiding sea kayaking expeditions in the San Juan Islands where I learned open water tide-charting. I then worked in the Oregon Badlands as a wilderness instructor for a program that backpacked exclusively off-trail using a map and compass. I feel so privileged to have grown in different environments and am excited to impart the knowledge I have gained through many adventures. As an outdoor educator, my first intention is always to connect my students with the land—weaving...

Amanda Ma is a ceremonialist, arts administrator, and integrative healing practitioner based in Tucson, Arizona. She is the founder of The Creative Medicine Path and the Sonoran Soulfire Retreat. Her doorway into this work came alive through durational performance art, where she came to understand the body as a living altar.
