Amy Scott

I am a social worker, a community organizer, a builder, a farmer, a dreamer, an artist, a hiker, a maker, a dancer, a singer, a swimmer, a doer. I believe that during this time of great transformation, we are all endowed with unique visions and gifts, and our work is to support one another in identifying and using those gifts to build the world to come.

I am immensely grateful for my many years of experience as an off-grid farmer, stained glass artist, and finish carpenter – all of the passion projects I’ve followed led me to create a workshop series teaching introductory power tool and basic building skills to women, femmes, and thems in the greater Humboldt County, CA community – an effort to offer the skills and tools to help build, literally, this new world!

I teach with love, enthusiasm, joy, and an emphasis on compassion and grace for yourself and all of the mistakes you’re about to make! The process of building is a somatic experience that helps you address problems, create solutions, and brings you completely into the present moment. It’s an honor to support folks stepping into the talents and power that they’ve always had and watch them move from holding a saw with trepidation, to cutting lumber with a grin!

Amy Scott will be sharing a hands on Power Tools class.
