SKILLSHARE SUN

Humans have been making cordage for at least fifty thousand years. It has helped us to shape our world and to thrive in it. We twist fibers to create strength, length and beauty. Cordage is accessible even to those who would not consider themselves artists or crafty- our hands can hold the memory. In this informal circle, folks are welcome to drop in and try their hands at this ancient technique or to continue with the cordage they have already begun. Just like an old fashioned quilting circle, it is an opportunity to sit with others- share, reflect, ask questions and to explore the process and form. Come away with an understanding of how to turn the materials in your life into beautiful and useful lengths of...

Almost every region of the Earth has a local version of the deer, from Ancient Europe to the Steppe and from Asia to the Americas. Deer species have roamed the planet for over 3.5 million years. They are entwined with humanity on physical, emotional, and spiritual levels. In many world cultures, the Deer Mother, Deer Goddess, or Sacred Feminine-as represented by a Deer, is a figure of veneration, petitions, miracles, fertility, and empowerment. The ubiquity of the Deer Mother archetype in global myth suggests an interdependent co-arising of human awareness, as our ancestors interfaced with her sacred species across vast territories. She is a narrative locus for many stories of women's mysteries worldwide. We can gather in the depths of her liquid eyes and her trembling...

Ever been told that you’re stuck up? Have you been called bougie, prissy, high saddity, high maintenance, selfish, a bitch, or my personal favorite… A selfish bitch? Yep, me too. And I love it. Hear me out. I know that you carry deep wounding from feeling rejected for having your own desires which has consistently led you to self-abandon in deference to others. Or if you do self advocate, you do so with shame, fear, and a shaky voice. Or, like many Women who’ve experienced trauma and mistreatment, you advocate for yourself in a way that is toxic, mean, and verbally violent. If you frequently slide into the energy of “going off” or “checking someone” or “telling someone about themselves”, this is definitely for you. What if you could learn to embrace...

Learn how to make meaning from your nightmares! When we turn towards rather than away from what scares us, we find an opportunity to face the shadow parts of ourselves and this world, and thereby close the gap between who we are and who we’d like to be. We will journey together through myth, visualization, partner work and discourse, and find ourselves walking back into the dream portal to encounter the face on the shadow side of the mirror. This is an experiential class in demystifying nightmares and providing practical support in accessing our inherent strength and confidence with which to face the shadow. If we want a healed and whole world rooted in love, we must first be willing to dream it. Thus, we courageously start...

Earthenware is a dialogue with the elements; listening to and learning from the ways of fire, the personalities of clay, and the alchemy of color and form. When we shape wild clays, made like us of bones and blood, and offer our creations to the fire, our intentions are transformed and fortified. Pit firing foraged clay vessels is practiced by many cultures around the world, each with rich pottery traditions, cuisines, and histories. With the prevalence of modern technological methods and commercial clay companies, the inherent connection between ceramics and the land has become abstracted. The very use of wild clays in this craft can be a profoundly enriching way to connect with the landscape we call home and literally build relationship with it. We will gather...
