01 Jan Animal Harvest Alchemy
Learn and rediscover traditional, ancestral ways of honoring an animal—from life to nourishment—while using every part with intention and respect. Held in a circle with reverence, song, and council, this workshop is a guided rite of passage into reciprocity-based foodways and earth skills.
Co-facilitators Ali and KK will walk participants through the full arc of transforming an animal into food and usable materials. Whether you’re called toward shepherding, hunting, or sourcing an animal to feed yourself and others, these skills will equip you to approach harvest and processing with efficiency, humility, and honor.
This class includes council practices for meeting the depth of giving death, hands-on skills for removing hides and preparing them for tanning, the foundational steps of bark tanning, and the breakdown, preparation, and preservation of the animal into nourishment.
We will focus on small mammals (rabbits) to make these lifeways accessible, repeatable, and confidence-building—while offering principles that translate to larger mammals as your path expands. Participants can choose their level of participation (observe, assist, or take the lead with guidance).
Ali McWeeny will be sharing Animal Harvest Alchemy, Rising Breathwork, and Wild Birth & Rebirth
