04 Jan Renée Camila
Daughter of Nicaraguan immigrants, Renée Camila is dedicated to the empowerment and healing offered by ancestral medicines through a decolonial lens. Her practice La Yerba Buena Herbs draws from her Mediterranean and Indigenous (Chorotega) ancestry and includes nearly a decade of clinical energetic herbalism, traditional birthwork, and folk education.
As a traditional healing arts practitioner she recognizes the birth ceremony as a radical tool for ancestral healing with a potential to cultivate resilience in the face of systemic oppression. She co-hosts the long-running radio program The Herbal Highway and co-founded the Now and Then Herb School.
Renée Camila is sharing Healing Insecurity: A Journey in Plant Spirit Medicine and Seed of Creation: Exploring the Seat of our Power.
