31 Dec Lily Mojdehi
A proud daughter of two immigrants from Iran, Lily Mojdehi learned to connect to her homeland through dance, music, and community. She grew up surrounded by the rich traditions of Persian culture, spending Sundays at the Persian Cultural Center. These gatherings were filled with connection, language, and shared stories, fostering a deep appreciation for cultural roots and collective experiences that continue to shape her path. Lily and her mother shared the same Persian dance teacher, creating a meaningful link between generations.
Persian dance became an act of remembering her heritage, land, and spirit. In high school, she was introduced to Modern dance and improvisation, where she learned that there were no rules for how something should look or feel. Moving with different teachers and styles for over 20 years, dance has continued to be a way for Lily to connect to her body and integrate/express emotions.
Lily Mojdehi is a relational and family therapist in Kumeyaay land, San Diego, CA. Her queer, Iranian American identity shapes her therapeutic work, allowing her to connect with clients by exploring the intersections of culture, identity, and personal experience.
Lily Mojdehi will be facilitating Modern Persian Dance.
