31 Jan Lasting Color Ecoprinting
This workshop is an introduction to ecoprinting and natural dyeing using flowers and plants on silk scarves or cotton bandanas. Together, we’ll explore natural dye as both a practical skill and a creative practice—learning how color emerges through preparation and play. Along the way, we’ll reflect on the beauty that shapes us, from relationships, rituals, and the natural world, to those who came before us.
Participants will learn the basics of mordanting natural fibers, get familiar with common dye plants, and work with fresh and dried botanicals. Come and create with bundle dyeing techniques, laying flowers and plant matter directly onto fabric to create patterns and unexpected color shifts.
This class welcomes both solo makers and partners. You can layer two pieces together to share dye—creating “sister scarves”—or work with a single piece, folding and bundling the fabric to create a mirrored pattern.
Lasting Color Ecoprinting will be shared by Brittany Walker .
