31 Dec Katherine Dessert
I am a lifelong artist who has spent years exploring the intersection of creativity, the body, and the earth. My artistic journey reached a pivotal moment when I committed to deepen my ability to follow through, stay accountable, and devote myself fully to my craft—culminating in the writing and publication of my first book, In a World I Cannot See: Poems From the Ground. This process strengthened my understanding of the slow, steady work required to nurture a creative vision and transformed how I approach both art and life.
In addition to my creative work, I have trained in Chi Nei Tsang, a somatic healing practice that works with the organs, emotions, and energy of the body. I studied under Grandmaster Mantak Chia and am certified through the Universal Healing Tao. This training has shown me how creativity flows not only from the mind but also through the body and our relationship with the natural world. My work is deeply rooted in these principles, and I draw on them to help others cultivate devotion, accountability, and resilience in their creative practices.
I live in the foothills of the Sierra Mountains in Northern California, Nisenan land, with my partner and children.
Katherine Dessert will be sharing Creative Process Mapping.
