02 Jan Cameron Green
Cameron was introduced to the study of Ancestral Skills in the early 2000s. After attending her first traditional skills gathering in 2003, she was entranced with the deep connection she felt with the Earth in practicing the old ways of peoples from around the world. In 2004, unexpected life circumstances gave Cameron, and her life partner Eric, the opportunity to do a full immersion into learning a variety of primitive skills for 4 months in Montana with teachers Lynx Vilden and Digger (Doug) Crist. Cameron, and Eric, found a lot of joy and contentment in practicing Ancestral Skills, and dove into that world wholeheartedly, learning and then eventually teaching at gatherings throughout the West.
In 2009, Cameron and Eric founded and organized Saskatoon Circle Primitive Skills Gathering in the Methow Valley of north central Washington. Cameron organized that gathering through 2015. Cameron now manages and operates a small scale organic farm in her longtime home of the Methow Valley. With her partner Eric, Cameron runs a line of handcrafted fermented food products and other healthy and nutritious foods, made with produce grown on the farm and processed onsite. While farming, land tending, and nourishing people are Cameron’s primary focus now, the magic of Ancestral Skills is still present in her life. Being able to teach again, especially in an all women’s setting, is an incredible honor and gift.
Cameron looks forward to teaching How to Sew Your Own Buckskin Bag, and sharing a little bit of the gentleness of the Deer People in the process. See you there!
