Temple of Sound: Ancestral Drum & Voice Activation is a three-hour immersive workshop reclaiming the ancestral tradition of women drumming and singing together as a source of healing, power, and remembrance. Across cultures, women have used rhythm and song to move emotion, restore the mother line, regulate the nervous system, and connect with ancestors and land. In this ritual-infused learning space, the drum is explored as the heartbeat of the body and earth, while the voice becomes a vessel for expression, prayer, and spellwork.
Participants will learn accessible drumming patterns, vocal techniques, and somatic practices that explore how rhythm and sound move through the body—particularly the womb, breath, and throat—before entering a guided ancestral drum and chant ritual. Song is approached as spellwork: sound shaped by intention, breath, and collective presence.
This is universal, multicultural work open to women of all backgrounds. No prior musical experience is required. Participants are encouraged to bring a hand drum, frame drum, rattle, shaker, or wind instrument if they have one; those without instruments can fully participate through voice and movement. Please bring a small, biodegradable or natural altar offering.
