28 Dec Tattoo Traditions Around the World
In this workshop, we will explore the history of tattooing, as well as piercing and other adornment practices from around the globe. Body modification has been, and still is, a prominent part of almost every indigenous culture. We will talk about different methods of tattooing & piercing, materials used, ceremonies, symbols, patterns, and revivals. My goal is to help folx reconnect with their ancestral roots through body adornment and deepen their understanding of tattoo, not as a trend, but as an ancient and sacred practice. I hope that people walk away from this workshop more knowledgeable about the tattoo traditions of their people and hopefully rekindle a connection to those who came before us.
