Plant Identification Walk

Plant Identification Walk

Meet some of our plant neighbors and learn how to identify them. You’ll learn some easily identifiable characteristics of a few plant families, as well as how to decipher some leaf and flower vocabulary used in plant books, so that you can go on to use a plant key in your local area.

We will walk in two to three distinct habitats on the land, identifying plants by leaf characteristics and structure, and flower characteristics whenever possible.

We will also touch on some medicinal and edible uses as we go along meeting our green kin, and share respectful approaches to receiving their generous gifts.

Long pants and shoes are recommended, due to poison oak next to the trails.

Dharmika Henshel will be leading a Plant Identification Walk.
