18 Dec Paulina María Rico
Paulina is an emerging multidisciplinary artist currently engaged in various earthen building and artistry projects. Her soul has been forever tethered to the arts, finding expression through an array of mediums; ceramic, collage, watercolor, mixed media, upcycling, textile, embroidery, dance, amongst other endeavors.
Over the last five years, she has engaged in self-directed learning internationally, benefiting from the expertise of some of the most skilled practitioners, including craftspeople and masons, in the field. When Paulina engages with the earth, she is immersed in a deep meditative journey – to her, this interaction is a fusion of play, labor, and therapeutic exploration. Through her use of reclaimed materials, Paulina echoes a powerful ecological sentiment, advocating for reduced consumption and a deeper, more considerate bond with the environment.
She draws inspiration from the whims, being in the presence of nature, sacred geometry, consciousness and altered states of mind, the aether and interstellar space, unconventional forms and shapes, her nomadic lifestyle, exoticism and folk culture, and by the craftsmanship of ancestral traditions.
Paulina will be skill sharing Earthen Building & Artistry.
