16 Jan LYMPHA-The Lymphatic Ecosystem
The origin of the word Lymphatic derives from the Roman deity Lympha. Lympha is an agricultural water goddess that guides the lymph nymphs through the waters, purifying it through pleasure and flow.
In Ayurveda, the lymphatic system is called Rasa, the River of Life, which represents melody, essence and taste. It is responsible for immune security, vitality and bodily comfort. With healthy flow, we are pain free, energetic and we are one with our innate circadian rhythm.
We mirror the miraculous systems of the earth, our body too is an ecosystem, ever
seeking balance and subject to the ripple effects of change when something goes amiss. And just like the earth, we are mostly water.
Did you know?
-The lymphatic waterways are the vehicle for our immune system function.
-Lymph river transports hormones from one gland to another feeding all the systems of the body.
-Responds to our experience of trauma and fills the voids by making scar tissue for us
