04 Jan Jewelry Making Basics
We will be learning the tools and techniques to put together beautiful and sacred necklaces, earrings, and bracelets. I will guide a small number of students through mastering the art of wire-wrapping, and the simple tools needed to practice this craft effectively. We will also experiment with the electric drill, so that found seashells and other natural objects can be turned into pendants and earrings. Lastly, I will share some of my personal creative secrets and other methods of jewelry production for those who wish to go deeper.
We will discuss the art of adornment, the use of charms and prayer bead practices like the rosary, and how to bring more meaning and mindfulness to the pieces of power and beauty that we place on our bodies.
This class will be limited to 6 participants to ensure individual attention is given and the skills are grasped.
Jewelry Making Basics will be taught by Maggie Eileen Lochtenburg
