31 Dec Intro to Infused Fats, Oils, and Salves
We will be demystifying medicine making through this hands on workshop. What is herbal extraction and why do we do it? How does one infuse herbs into fats like oil and tallow? Why might you use an oil instead of a wash? Which herbs extract well in fat? Should I use the sun, a blender, or a double boiler? Animal fats or vegetable oils? This class is wonderful for beginners and those seasoned medicine makers, as there is always something to learn in the practice of folk herbalism.
During our time together. we will craft a salve together for you to take home for skincare or herbal first aid use. You will have the chance to ask questions and get support as you dream up your own fat infusions. You will also take home a hand stitched zine containing everything covered in class so that you may continue this practice at home.
