Holding the Body: Topical Applications of Flower Essences

Holding the Body: Topical Applications of Flower Essences

Phelicia will offer a hands-on, experiential workshop exploring topical applications of flower essences for nervous system stabilization, trauma support, and somatic healing.

We’ll work with flower essences as partners for containment and release, exploring how sensation and narrative live in the body and how energetic preparations of plant medicine can support us in meeting these states with care.

Together, we’ll explore simple, accessible topical applications, including pulse points, heart-to-belly holds, grounding head and foot holds, as well as self-application techniques for grounding and release before and after partner or client work. The focus is on learning through direct experience—feeling how the essences move in the body, how sensation shifts, and how to follow what the body is asking for in real time.

We’ll also explore ways of selecting flower essences using intuition and somatic feedback, including basic kinesiology and other body-based methods for sensing whether an essence is supportive. Throughout the workshop, we’ll practice staying present and grounded while working with another person, learning how to hold a clear channel for the plant to do its work without imposing our own narratives on the session.

Attention will also be given to spiritual hygiene: how to ground before and after partnered work, how to avoid taking on what isn’t ours, and how to leave the work with the plants and the earth once it’s complete.

This workshop is welcoming to those new to flower essences as well as practitioners who wish to weave flower essences into their existing work, including therapists, bodyworkers, birth workers, and others working with somatic modalities.

Holding the Body: Topical Applications of Flower Essences for Containment & Release will be taught by Phelicia Okon-Magnusson
