Herbal Medicine Making Techniques

Herbal Medicine Making Techniques

This workshop will inform beginners and intermediate herbalists on traditional, hand-made herbal medicine techniques, ranging from infused oils and herbal salves to tinctures and syrups.
The workshop will begin with an introduction to herbalism and a review of ten common herbs and their benefits (these herbs will be used in our medicine-making). We will then continue with hands-on medicine making techniques!

Students will make an infused oil, salve, tincture and syrup together. This portion of the class will include when to harvest an herb, when it is appropriate to use fresh plants versus dry plant material, shelf-life of herbal products, labeling, and appropriate uses of herbal medicines, as well as where to purchase high-quality materials for medicine-making.

Yvonne Mayshark will be sharing Herbal Medicine Making Techniques.
