Constanza is a South American, Colombia based herbalist living in the mountains of Antioquia since 2016. A wild and passionate lover of the cosmos, soil microbiology, beekeeping, dancing, singing, poetry writing, wildcrafting and regenerative agriculture, Constanza looks for ways to infuse every bit of the Journey with pleasure and joy.
She started to deepen her relationship with the plants in June, 2011 after a hit & run bike accident that dramatically changed her life, beginning her path with the support of symphytum officinale, a bone mending plant that continues to be one of her most treasured allies.
Since her childhood in Chile Constanza has had an affinity with nature, spending long hours foraging for mushrooms with her mother and learning the art of preserving seasonal fruits with her grandmother. It wasn’t until her adult life that Constanza had the opportunity to deepen her connection with the medicine and spirit of the Plants, getting trained in Earth path Permaculture with Pandora Thomas and StarHawk, Wise Woman tradition of healing, plant spirit medicine and conscious Herbalism with Sage Mauer, Steph Zabel and Doña Lidia Acevedo, Curandera of Oaxaca, Mexico.
Since 2016 Constanza has been tending the land where she lives with her 4 year old daughter Niah, her husband Ben, growing food as medicine, wildcrafting, teaching herbalism and making small batch herbal extracts for her community.
To encompass all of her creative collaboration with the wisdom of the Plants, Constanza founded her project Jardín Secreto in 2017 to create a welcoming space that offers educational experiences, sacred and ritual gatherings, conscious growing and harvesting methods that are in service, above all, to nature.
Constanza teaches conscious herbalism workshops in South America, as well as a yearly herbalism apprenticeship in Medellin, Colombia. Her work and way of sharing herbalism honors the ancestral tradition of the Medicine Wheel, guiding her work by the moon cycles, the seasons and her endless reverence for nature. Constanza firmly believes in the need for reciprocity with everything that surrounds us, the need for profound gratitude and humility in our work with these incredibly generous beings.
Constanza will be sharing sacred medicine herbalism through the senses.
