Create a devotional painting using earth pigments that honors the power of your Yoni. Participants will be guided to paint a representation of a Yoni on a pice of wood that they can place on their altar as a sacred totem. “Yoni” is a Sanskrit word which translates as Divine Portal, and refers to the female reproductive system (womb, vulva and vagina). This art project encourages exploration of your relationship to your Yoni, and provides an opportunity for deep healing.   This workshop is an invitation to learn the basics of plant dye alchemy. Plant dyeing is the oldest way of capturing color on textiles and is used amoung many different cultures. In this class you'll be able to witness the alchemical beauty of tranforming undyed fibers into living color pieces. We'll be experimenting with extracted dye from plants, modifiers and/or eco printing on organic fibers. You'll be guided through the foundations of natural dye in a step by step process that can support your journey of walking in color and giving new life to the threads that hold you. Women have been sitting in circles and crafting for centuries. During this class we will take a journey into the ancient techniques of weaving, where we will not only learn the skill but also discover the therapeutic benefits of working with natural materials. We will be using one of the oldest basket weaving techniques, coil weaving, to weave pine needle baskets. A style practiced by many people groups. This class will provide a supportive and collaborative environment, providing women with a space to share stories, connect, and celebrate the shared experience of creating art with nature's elements. Aiyah is the head cheesemaker and creamery manager at Crushpad Creamery, a small creamery at Wooldridge Creek Winery in the Applegate Valley of Southern Oregon.
