Windsong Martin lives in Southern Oregon, with her husband, on their 40 acre beautiful land in the Siskiyou Mountains. She is an active environmental protector. Windsong has a great passion for singing with others. She has written many folk songs, chants and a choral arrangements. The chant “MOTHER I FEEL YOU” written in 1985, has travelled the world resonating with others who love the Earth. Windsong has been sharing workshops and choral circles for years and for many decades she has been active hosting Women’s ceremonies, writing and gathering many songs for women. Create a devotional painting using earth pigments that honors the power of your Yoni. Participants will be guided to paint a representation of a Yoni on a pice of wood that they can place on their altar as a sacred totem. “Yoni” is a Sanskrit word which translates as Divine Portal, and refers to the female reproductive system (womb, vulva and vagina). This art project encourages exploration of your relationship to your Yoni, and provides an opportunity for deep healing.   This workshop is an invitation to learn the basics of plant dye alchemy. Plant dyeing is the oldest way of capturing color on textiles and is used amoung many different cultures. In this class you'll be able to witness the alchemical beauty of tranforming undyed fibers into living color pieces. We'll be experimenting with extracted dye from plants, modifiers and/or eco printing on organic fibers. During this class we will take a journey into the ancient techniques of weaving, where we will not only learn the skill but also discover the therapeutic benefits of working with natural materials. We will be using one of the oldest basket weaving techniques, coil weaving, to weave pine needle baskets. A style practiced by many people groups.   We will explore the passport of breath and inhalation of sacred resins burned to understand how they effect our consciousness somatically.
