03 Jan Botanical Bundle Dye – Silk Scarves
A class where beginner & intermediates natural dyers can learn all the elements of bundle dyeing to successfully use the skill at home on any natural fiber.
Participants will dye their own. 22×22″ pure silk scarf while learning: what dyes, how to identify and harvest dye plants, store & recognize food waste for dye, mordanting fabric, an explanation of natural fibers, applying the dye, bundling methods, and binding techniques – all amongst time for questions and deeper dives into the plants x colors.
Bundle dyeing is a fabulous technique for covering stains, creating color, and bring new life to the clothing and textiles you already have. We will be dyeing our silk with an array of fresh & dried flowers. tree barks, root powders, compost, & more.
Bundle Dying will be taught by Ty Bramwell.
