26 Dec Anna Lee Henning
Anna has been working with earthen materials since very young, first beginning making small clay pots from a cave she grew up tending to. She majored in ceramics in college and had spent her life practicing carpentry with her master carpenter father. She fell in love with cob in late 2017 when her partner introduced her to this way of building and they then went onto build a 800 Sq. Ft. Cob home. Since then, she has built numerous other buildings including light straw clay, strawbale and more cob. She works as a professional natural plasterer along with tending to her painting career. These arts go hand in hand. She has worked with and learned from the likes of Ianto Evans+Linda Smiley (cob cottage company) , Michael G. Smith (co-author of “Hand Sculpted House”), Athena Steen (Canelo Project and author of “The Strawbale House”), Sasha Rabin of Earthen Shelter and more. Her favorite aspects of building include the design+finish work (Natural and Lime plasters, earthen floors..etc.) She has taught many students the arts of cob and natural plasters and looks forward to continuing her educational journey and sharing her knowledge with more women who are interested in building and design!
Anna Lee will be sharing Natural Building 101 and Altar of the Home
