Connecting with Light: Stained Glass

Connecting with Light: Stained Glass

Learn the meditative craft of stained glass construction. Stained glass is a physical reminder of the divine light that illuminates our lives, and can be a window into the spiritual realm. Glass forms in a continuous network of atoms which alludes to our entangled connection to all things. Stained glass allows us to experience color and light in an ethereal manner opening us to the sacred dimensions of our lives through visual art. It is my hope that you will find this a meditative act of intentional creation.

This course will use the elements and compounds of glass, copper, heat, and intention to create a beautiful take home triple goddess, or triple crescent moon symbol, which represents the waxing, full, and waning moons, and is associated with the Maiden, Mother, and Crone aspects of womanhood. This totem also symbolizes fertility, life and death, changing seasons, and the menstrual cycle.

In this workshop, you will learn how to cut, grind, copper foil and solder stained glass taking home your finished piece. Gloves, masks, and other protective gear will be provided.

Connecting with Light: Stained Glass Suncatcher Workshop will be shared by Erin Elliott.
