23 Dec Altar of the Home
Creating a space is a true art form, and in this class we will discuss the many ways to bring natural materials into your home to create your space as an altar for your spirit to thrive, to inspire and to invigorate you.
We will discuss interior design choices that move with the earth elements, how to bring freshness and inspire your space to feel like the earthen sanctuary you’ve been craving.
Humans have evolved to live beneath mud, animal skins, tree and animal bones, as well as the open sky.
We were never made to live in plastic square boxes, but often we end up there. So this class will support us in finding how to integrate the biological needs for nature in our spaces while working within the modern context.
I we will also learn about the integration of cob, (a mixture of sand clay and straw in our indoor and outdoor spaces to bring the ancient ancestor of clay to support and live with us in our day to day lives.
We will learn to mix cob, get our hands in the clay and learn the art of cob creation. We will also sculpt a mini home for inspiration to learn the basics of design and natural engineering elements so we can go home and create cob sculptures, ovens and walls in our own homes and gardens.
Altar of the home will be shared by Anna Lee Henning
