Misty Dawn is a mama, a midwife and an herbalist. Descending from east Tennessee and the Blue Ridge Mountains. Misty is a generational women’s healing arts keeper who has had a calling to serve women since she was young. Her ancestors lived close to the land as farmers and herbalist and much of her wisdom has been passed down from her aunties and grandmothers. . Misty graduated from a traditional midwifery school in 2003 and has continued to study with midwives around the globe.
Misty believes that birth is a sacred right of passage, a 10 moon journey from maiden to motherhood. She honors pregnancy as a liminal phase in life, a phase of becoming. The best way to support this phase is to empower women to trust their intuition, embrace their inner wisdom and believe that their bodies and their babies know exactly what to do. Nutritional, emotional and wellness counseling as well as body sovereignty, love, and education are the cornerstones of her practice. Misty has been blessed to stand at the gates of birth where the veils are thin and witness over 900 babies make their way earth side. In her 27 years of service she has served 1000s of women through their many phases in life.
She now calls majestic Lake Tahoe CA home. Here she can be found playing in the mountains or in her Herb & Moon Apothecary crafting artisanal, herbal remedies for her product company Herb & Moon and always serving women through her practice Ohana Midwifery.
