11 Jan Victoria Keen
Victoria Keen is a fabric alchemist, a sound sorceress, a plant whisperer and Mother. Her passion and affinity for flowers, fibers, and healing is deeply rooted in her mother’s lineage.
Always surrounded by the plants, Victoria grew up in her mother’s lush garden. Having direct experiences with Nature Spirits in this garden at a young age was a gateway into communication with them and the stones, giving Victoria a deep reverence for plant and mineral wisdom.
Victoria learned to work her color magick on fabric while studying Textiles at Parsons in New York City, devoting herself to mastering the art and science of hand printing fabric. She went on to create a clothing line with her love in 2003 made from her original printed textiles using local, sweatshop free labor, natural fibers and water based inks.
Today she works with the fibers in an intentional and alchemical way. With the generosity of the plants and elements, she blends the flowers, leaves, barks and roots with water, fire, and air to dye her textiles. Each piece is a poem made with and for Gaia. Victoria is looking forward to sharing this water wise technique in nature at the Gathering.
A seeker by nature, Victoria found the Gong and Sound Medicine through her consciousness explorations many years ago. In her sound bath ceremonies, she uses her training as a pianist, a visual and healing artist to weave a sonic tapestry that is also a prayer, a meditation, a journey and a healing experience. She is honored to bring her array of ritual Sound instruments to the gathering this year.
