04 Mar Spirit Weavers Tea House
Every meal throughout the gathering is complete with our favorite drink, TEA! This year, we will have a beautiful tea room in the main lodge which will be our tea house! With each meal we will have several variety of herbal blends carefully curated by our tea fairies Koa and Melissa. Both sisters have spent many years with these sacred plants either serving in tea houses or ceremonies. We feel so very grateful to have these sisters with us again, always lovingly serving up the most nourishing teas. Tea will always be available during the gathering if you feel called to sip!
“Tea is a space I find wholeness. The roundness of the cup, the warmth of the water, the life of the leaves as they unfurl to reveal and unlock their secrets in flavor and energy are all part of the mystery. In its natural simplicity, tea enhances presence, deepens meditation and strengthens connection with Source. Tea helps to see clearly and flow freely into the world of synchronicity and vitality. Tea opens a space for the emergence of our true essence.
Hydration with warm water and appropriate herbs is one of the most ancient and powerful medicines, representing the alliance between people and plants who have grown together for ages in co-evolution. Tea spans across all cultural traditions, time and place. Tea is a timeless art and practice based in health, beauty and harmony with all things.
The Teahouse is a place of belonging, communion, peace and friendship. it is at the Teahouses where important conversations were sparked and cultural revolutions began. At Spirit Weavers Gathering we will be creating our own small Teahouse where we will offer special hand-made blends to serve our bodies, minds, souls, and spirits. Each morning and evening we will have the opportunity to drink together inside the warmth of the Teahouse or outside in the meadow basking in the sun.
I start each morning with my own silent tea ceremony. This practice of filling the tea bowl offers a daily reflection that is constantly changing — whether delicate, bold, sweet or bitter, the tea is the medicine and an offering to our soul and to the soul of the world.
Many of my greatest friendships have been made over tea, as tea is the great weaver. I look forward to weaving with you, serving you, and seeing you in wholeness at the Spirit Weavers Gathering Teahouse.”
“I have loved working with herbal medicine and tea for a long time. I find that the many different aspects of my passions in life– healing, bodywork, art, photography, yoga, meditation, ceremony, ritual– can all be practiced and amplified with the aid of tea. In turn, each of these passions and my experience of them make their way into my relationship with tea. Working with tea is intuitive and comes from the heart. It is a never ending journey of learning and experience. Each time sitting with it is different, and yet also builds upon your present foundation, offering us an endless journey of discovery and presence. Tea helps us to connect to ourselves, to where we sit, to the plant itself, to each other, to the magic moment of the pour and the sip. Herbal teas are also a gift and an art, as we can blend different herbs to create desired effects– to uplift us, to relax us, to help us digest, to open our hearts. I delight in working with plants and flowers in these ways, tuning into them, being with them, and sharing their magic with others. It is my honor to help prepare teas during the gathering to nourish, ground, open, and connect us all to the beauty of each moment.”
