05 Jan Shannon Pritchard
Shannon (she/they) is a maker whose hands have always grasped for any materials which could be transformed. She is interested in truth, in stories, and in the way objects hold echoes of memory.
Her path with fiber work began as a child; knitting led to weaving, spinning, seeking to be closest to the source of those materials we use to warm us. She has been deepening and sharing these skills for the past decade, most avidly enjoying spinning with drop spindle or wheel. While studying organic farming in 2011, she fell in love with honeybees. This passion deepened after befriending herbalist Benjamin Pixie and their collaboration birthed The Pixie Traveling Medicine Show – touring devotees sharing stories and gifts of the most important and magnificent of their teachers; the honeybee.
Shannon believes in endless possibilities, puts her trust in wildness, and owes her life to poetry and to those who share it. She is a mother to an inspiring young human, a wood whisperer and typewriter poet residing in the Pacific Northwest, on Squaxin and Nisqually lands.
Shannon will be teaching Drop Spindle Fiber Spinning and Honeybee Magic & Medicine
