Radically Reclaiming the Blood

Radically Reclaiming the Blood

In our modern society, menstruation is one of the most taboo and stigmatized aspects of our human experience. Yet, an authentic connection with our blood and cycle can be one of the most rewarding and empowering relationships that one can cultivate in their life. In this workshop we will explore tools for radically reclaiming that which has been taken from us- the sanctity and the ceremony of bleeding. These practices include giving our blood to the earth, painting with our blood, ingesting our blood, and more.

We’ll discuss womb cosmology, the ancient teaching of the blood mysteries, and the tradition of bleeding with the New Moon. We’ll explore the subtle energetic shifts of the menstrual cycle that lead us to accessing altered states of consciousness through bleeding. Most importantly, we will reflect on how we can cultivate our personal practice of sacred menstruation, nourishing a connection to our cycle that is informed by our personal understanding of what sacredness means to us. Come take a deep dive into the stories and stigmas around menstruation, and explore how we can create a radical reconnection to this beautiful aspect of our bodies.
