Maia Rodriguez

Maia Awi Rodriguez is a noontime herbalist and daytime university instructor & Ph.D. student working to integrate plant healing, community assemblage, and research. Maia specializes in North American, South American, and Caribbean indigenous theory, (his)story, and language, and is working to reconstruct precolonial plant-relationships and rituals. As well as teaching classes at UC Berkeley ranging from an undergraduate Native American literature course to a decal on Campus-Land Plant Medicines, Maia leads community workshops on herbalism, ceremony & assembly, and ancestral decolonization.
