Japanese culture is deeply rooted in the long history of Miso, Green Tea, and Calligraphy. They all have great health benefits for both mental and physical well being, and have been passed on for thousands of years. In this class, you will get to know the basic yet essential knowledge about Miso including tasting different kinds of Miso, what to look for when you pick for you and your family, and traditional recipes. We are going to have Green Tea in between to take a break like how Japanese people drink tea in daily life, and tips and stories will be shared. Calligraphy is a traditional art, yet meditational and personal practices. Learn how to use the brush, how the strokes works, and pick a character out of Sun, Moon or one of the Five elements in Chinese Character (Kanji), then practice, and make your own wall hanging(Kakejiku.).
In this Class, sisters get to taste the essentials of Japanese Traditional life; Miso, Green Tea and Calligraphy. The knowledge and skills will help you to nourish and elevate your daily life.
