01 Jan Botanical Waters: Basics of Hydrosols & Essential Oils
This class will demonstrate the magical alchemy of creating hydrosols and essential oils. We’ll fill my 55 gal stainless steel still and 5 gal copper still with fresh organic plant material from my garden to show the different methods of distilling, the process used to create essential oils. To distill the spirit of SWG, we will be using the sweet Illinois river water and all participants will leave with a spray bottle of the hydrosol we just created. (Eucalyptus, fir, pine or cedar depending on what is available). 5oz spray bottles will be provided to fill & take home. We will also create labels for our hydrosol bottles, talk history, safety, plants, share recipes and favorite ways to use hydrosols.
