Ancestors + Herbs + Indigenous Reclamation

Ancestors + Herbs + Indigenous Reclamation

Breathe in and breathe out, inhale the essence of the wild undomesticated spirits of nature, hold, and now weave in the faces, voices, and wisdom of your ancestors. There isn’t one human on earth who will not benefit from the slow pace of the elements and the reawakening of ancestral veneration. Through ancestral altars, woven flowers, herbal teas, and anointments our meditation and resilience is strengthened by the shoulders whom we stand. Through colonization, our ancestors have taken a back seat along with our heal and wellness. The ancestors are reborn through the plant spirits whom we call upon when our heart weeps for the earth, when our minds are unable to focus on the tasks at hand, and when the cold enters our chest. This is when we are reminded of them, but why wait for nature to spin you around before you stop, give thanks, and bow before the wombs and lingams who have brought life and sustenance to you. This class is meant to slow the herbalist down, weave in their ancestors, call upon their names, feel the beat of the drum pulsating through your being, as you deepen your connection with your plant allies.
