I am a full time mother and herbalist, local to Cave Junction, Oregon. My farm is on the edge of the Siskiyou Forest, where my husband and I grow, feed, educate and nurture our four home birthed children. Their ages range from 8-2 years old and they keep our homestead rambunctious, busy and filled with learning.
I have been full time on our farm for over 10 years. Together, as a family, we raise 1000 chickens for meat production annually, grow 10+ acres of medicinal herbs and supply 30+ Bulk Loose Herbs and 50+ Single Plant Extracts via our Online Storefront and Local Farmer’s Markets. We work within the rhythms of the seasons and spend many hours exploring our epic Pacific Northwest ecosystem.
My educational background is fun to recall. I thoroughly enjoyed my years of formal learning. I studied Early Childhood Development at Texas Tech University. Then moved from Texas to Colorado and received an Associates Degree in Occupational Therapies, specializing in Cranial Sacral Therapy and Reflexology from the Colorado School of Healing Arts. I studied Midwifery under the Mentorship of both Vicky Penwell of Mercy In Action in Boise, Idaho and Hannah Freiwald of Manos Abiertos in Cuidad Vieja, Guatemala. I apprenticed with Mayan Comadrona, Dona Odelia in rural Guatemala, studying primitive birthing systems and Folk Herbalism.
After many years of intensive studies and travels, we settled into our forever home in Southern Oregon. I believe in infusing tradition and ritual into the family unit and aim to raise my children close to the earth, with a focus on farming, primitive skills and self reliance.
Adrianne will be sharing Herbs for Kids & a Plant Walk.
