A Guide To Informed Touch

A Guide To Informed Touch

In this class, you will use intuitive touch to palpate, identify, and expel trigger points. Trigger points(TP) are what you may refer to as “knots”, which can be defined as a grumpy little spot in a taut band of muscle tissue that hurts when pressed on and may pass pain to other areas of the body in predictive patterns.

During our time together, you will learn how to apply direct pressure using your thumb and forefingers to deactivate TPs. These points often develop in people who perform repetitive stressful tasks, have poor posture, muscular or skeletal trauma, emotional distress, arthritic joints, or other trigger points.

Placing awareness into your hands, you will be able to differentiate between healthy and grumpy tissues. Intuitive touch takes an ongoing effort to intentionally connect your mind and your hands, but you will leave this class with a healthy and open body, mind, heart, and all the tools required to alleviate chronic pain and tension. This practice can continue to be used on oneself, friends, or family on any day, at any time.
