Rawhide pouches

In this class we will be making gorgeous, painted pouches made from deer skin and decorated with natural earth pigments. Rawhide is the most basic form of preserved animal skin, and has been used by most human cultures around the planet. The technology of this type of container is largely informed and inspired by the Parfleche containers of the people of the Great Plains of North America as well as the illuminated manuscripts of ancient Europe and the Middle East.

Rawhide Pouches will be shared by Bethany Ridenour
